When away from home, particularly if you’re in a foreign city for the first time, finding the right location to work remotely can be challenging. That said if you’re travelling to the Mother City, Cape Town’s centrally located Kloof Street precinct has plenty on offer to balance work commitments and downtime exploration.
On top of its excellent location, and spectacular views of Table Mountain, the area provides a ton of work-friendly cafés, art galleries, boutique stores, plus easy access to the CBD and Waterfront. Nevertheless, just because you can take your laptop everywhere doesn’t mean that all the coffee spots available to you will allow you to work comfortably.
So, we’ve done some research. Naturally, decent coffee is a prerequisite. You can’t work without fuel. But there are also practical considerations such as WiFi, plug points, and load shedding. We’ve made a list, and narrowed it down to four spots on Kloof Street, all of which are popular with locals and a minute’s walk, or less, from our Hippo Boutique Hotel front door.
